Profitability case interview examples
The most common archetype, and the one most often botched. A profitability case hands you a falling profit number and asks why: the discipline is diagnostic, not creative.
How to approach a profitability case
- Split revenue and cost before exploring either. If revenue is flat, stop exploring demand.
- Always convert to a per-unit basis. Rising total costs mean nothing if volume rose too.
- Recommendations before diagnosis is the single most common failure here.
